Boho Energy started with a simple question: what if home décor could carry meaning, not just match a colour scheme?
We fell in love with the beauty of African craft traditions — the way a single piece of art could hold history, symbolism, and identity all at once. Feathers, cords, and hand-dyed threads weren't just materials to us; they were a language passed down through generations of artisans who understood that the things we hang on our walls should mean something.
So we set out to make pieces that felt handled, not manufactured. Every design begins the same way it has for years — a cord, a spool of thread, and hours of patient, deliberate wrapping. What changes each time is the story that piece ends up telling in someone's home.
Today, Boho Energy is a small but growing collection of handwoven wall art and décor, made by people who still believe that craftsmanship, patience, and intention matter — especially in a world that's moved on to mass production.

In many African traditions, feathers represent protection. Woven cords represent unity and strength. Colour represents emotion, energy, and status. We didn't invent these meanings — we simply chose to honour them.
Our mission is to bring these traditions into modern homes without losing what makes them powerful. Every piece is designed to do more than fill a blank wall. It's meant to greet you when you walk through the door, to hold a little bit of warmth, protection, and good fortune for the people who live there.

How It's Made

Heading: From Raw Material to Finished Piece
Step 1 — Sourcing
Every piece begins with the materials themselves. Peacock feathers, cotton cord, and braided thread are selected by hand for their colour, texture, and quality — long before any actual crafting begins. Nothing is chosen at random; every material has to earn its place in the final piece.
Step 2 — Wrapping
This is where the real work happens. Each cord is wound by hand, colour laid over colour, thread over thread, until the braid holds both its shape and its symbolism. A single piece can take hours of continuous, focused wrapping — there are no shortcuts, and no two pieces ever wrap up exactly the same way.
Step 3 — Finishing
Once the wrapping is complete, tassels are trimmed, ends are bound, and every piece is checked by hand for quality before it's considered ready. Only then does it leave the workshop and begin its journey to your home.
